Today’s kindness tip is about showing kindness to yourself. Remember, just like on an airplane during an emergency, to put on your mask first then help others.

What are some ways you can do that?

Put yourself first.

In order to be there for everyone, you need to start with yourself.

Using the airplane analogy, you might think this is selfish, but it’s not. You are of no use to anyone if you yourself are not well.

Let’s face it, in life everyone is looking to you for support.

Here are a few things you need to do;

1. Quality Sleep

Are you getting enough sleep? If not, try to calm your mind to allow yourself to recharge.

2. Exercise

By moving, you release happy hormones that relieve stress.

3. Mindfulness

Stress & anxiety can be handled by an enjoyable routine of mindfulness, i.e. journaling, listening to music, or meditation, etc.

4. Proper nutrition

Are you eating nutritious food & hydrating yourself properly?

5. Connecting with others

Have you reached out to friends or family recently? It will make you feel more connected to reduces feelings of isolation and spark more joy.

By taking care of yourself first, you’re ensuring you have energy to take care of those around you.

6. Lead by example.

By practicing self-care, you’re also a role model to those around you.

Do one thing today that will put you on the top of your own list. Put your own mask on first!
