Today’s kindness through self care tip is to go for a short walk to increase your happiness and improve your mood. Even a short 10 minute walk has its benefits.

Research suggests that walking regularly can alter your nervous system and affect how your brain processes neurotransmitters like dopamine to reduce feelings of tension, anxiety, depression and anger – especially when you take a walk where there is greenery. The fresh air will also do you some good.

Walking and physical exercise stimulate the release of endorphins, commonly known as “feel-good” hormones. Endorphins help reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, and boost mood.

Recently studies have shown that walking can even reverse aging! Now that’s a deal nobody can pass up on.
