Today’s kindness through self care tip is to do the things you loved doing as a child.
It can be anything from baking, to cooking, to gardening, to drawing, to listening to music, to crossword puzzles, to playing a favourite instrument or sport, etc. Each on of us has our own talents, interests, passions and hobbies.
When we’re young, we don’t have any inhibitions holding us back; we simply follow our hearts and instincts to what brings us joy. We’re used to having the rhythm of life naturally flow within us.
Over the course of time once we’re adults, taking on more responsibilities and the pressures of work and life, we forget about our own happiness and the things that used to bring us joy. The memories of those good times are lost with the innocence gone with them. All of a sudden we feel lost and not in touch with our true selves anymore. We’re no fun anymore.
There is no reason for us to continue to live life that way. Take life and yourself a little less seriously. Be excited, playful and childlike. Reconnect with your inner child and your childhood friends. What sparks the light in you? Make a conscious effort to think about those good old days and bring that fun and excitement into your reality right here, right now!
What act of playfulness did you do in honour of your childhood memories today?
