Today’s kindness tip is from my friend Tracy Turberfield who suggests getting outside for a walk and smiling at your neighbours as an act of kindness to yourself and others. You never know who needs it today.
Exercise can be great for our overall health & well-being. Studies show that even a 10 -20 minute walk outside per day, may help to improve our physical & mental health, and have a positive impact on self confidence. It reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, improving inflammatory conditions, & decreasing the severity & onset of mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, fatigue & trouble sleeping.
Physical activity can also be a fun way of socializing & getting out to meet people. According to Canadian guidelines, adults should aim for 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week.
For e.g. moderate physical activity can include going for a brisk walk, mowing the lawn, gardening & golfing.
Vigorous activities include running, cycling, tennis, soccer, shoveling or carrying heavy loads, & cross country skiing.
What physical activity did you do today to be kind to your body, mind and/or spirit?
Thx (A)Mina
