Today’s kindness through self care tip is to make a conscious decision to be happy in your life. It is not easy and we’re human, so it’s not a switch that can be turned on or off. Sometimes something challenging happens to us and so we need to go through the emotions of processing that, however we can’t stay in the state forever. At some point, we need to lift ourselves up and try to see the good there is in life too.

If we don’t choose to be happy ourselves from within then no external thing is going to do it for us. We can’t rely on other people or possessions to make us happy as that can change. We may find a few fleeting moments of happiness here and there temporarily, but it will not keep you in that blissful state always.

Happiness is an emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfillment.

Life is a journey which brings with it moments of happiness and moments of sadness, and unless we keep ourselves in a balanced state, our emotions will be going up and down like a yo-yo in response to life’s blows. That is no way to live. We need to ask ourselves if we’re happy, and if we’re not, then we need to identify why not and take steps to changing what we can within our own control.
